The reality of women’s safety is terrifying. The statistics of crimes and assaults against women are staggering. Its normalization is even more horrifying. There is hidden text in the work that is either headlines of femicide or common phrases told to women about their safety. The glitter on the bag holds the attention of the viewer, away from the messages in fabric.
